Tomorrow morning we’ll be making the trek south to Philadelphia for @libertyflea in the Bok building. Spent the afternoon gathering our wares and packing the van with vintage clothing, small furniture pieces, so many hats, select housewares & barware and a ton of vintage magazines & paper ephemera. Here’s a photo from Double Trouble State Park that was taken on one of our many trips to the pine barrens attempting to clear our heads and take a break from shuffling through vintage kitsch.
Roaming through this massive desert (the largest CA state park, btw), it's mind-blowing to know that this used to all be under water, a part of the Gulf of California. Very little, if anything, apart from some very hardy desert plants, can grow here--that's why this barren landscape got its name the Badlands. There's a lot more history and paleontological info to this area, but all I really know is that the sunsets here are so spectacular and vibrant, you have to see them in person to believe them.
“I feel most at home along the Ocean’s edge, where land meets sea; it is here along these rocky life filled pools, giant kelp forests and flat rock fishing holes, that life reaches into me with a soothing calm” ☝🏼💚🙋🏼♀️🐿 We went to the Sonoma Coast on Monday and it was a gorgeous day. Charlie went spearfishing and diving while I used the time for meditation, yoga, and exploring. I chilled across from harbor seals watching them sunbathe on the rocks while others did flips in the ocean below my feet. I spotted a tiny crab and lizard and let the sea salt spray my face! The rocks of Salt Point are sedimentary, mainly sandstone, they are tilted, exposing older rocks and fun to play on. Salt Point is named for the tafoni where the ocean water crystallizes in the honeycomb like crevices.... 😍🐿 the more you know 🐙
Adventure is something I value for decompressing and enjoying life to its fullest. You’ll always find me out exploring our beautiful planet Earth! I make space to get away. Finding the right balance of work and play will always be an opportunity for growth for myself, however, what I have learned is to choose wisely on your PLAY time! Is it setting you up for success for the rest of your week? Will your play time bring a sense of peace and calm, excitement and abundance of energy or is it depleting and exhausting you ? Happy Friday. Play safe friend! Oh and gift yourself @brenebrown ‘s new book Dare To Lead!
