Silhouette fairy, I did trace it. Just something simple I did for my daughters room. Not much effort needed just watercolour paint 😂 the second photo is what the paper looked like before I painted the fairy. #watercolour#fairy#silhouette#simple#painting#traced
Inktober Day: 13 - Guarded
That time George gave the security guard a rocking chair. 😂. I miss this show.
Homemade walnut ink, Liquitex Ink! Muted Turquoise on Canson 9 x 12” watercolor paper.
I had to speed things up on this one in order to start catching up with these inktober prompts. 😐
WIP - First layer.
I’ve recently started to paint florals to explore a different subject, apart from my usual animal portraits. I kept getting remarks like “your animal paintings look much better”. Of course they do. I’ve been painting animals and acquired painting skills for fur techniques for 4.5 years now. Did you know, that when I first started painting animals, people told me that watercolor shouldn’t be used this way? 🤷🏻♀️ Well, I didn’t care what it’s “supposed” to look like, and I didn’t let that stop me from pursuing my own style. I fully understood the transparency of watercolor, how layering the fur would create depth, and that was exactly the result that I aimed to achieve.
Floral paintings requires different techniques to achieve the desired effects. Techniques that I’m not used to, and would like to improve on. So I will continue to TRY painting flowers because I like flowers, and it’s a challenge, and about learning new skills. Basically, I will paint whatever I feel like painting. I’m not afraid to try, even if it looks bad or if people tell me my flowers look stiff. I’d rather be brave and give a shot at something I’m interested in, than not trying at all. There are different styles of painting florals, and this happens to be my style, so. ✌🏻
Draw/paint/create whatever you want, be adaptable, be curious, insist on and pursue your style, do what pleases you, and never stop learning and exploring. Listen to your own voice.
