Lupine for days 💜
I’m in Austin for @travel_con, but a little bird told me there’s frost on the sagebrush in Mammoth Lakes this morning. This time last year, we had a surprise snowstorm on the last day of summer, so a little frost is actually mild.
Winter is on its way. Soon wildflower pictures will be replaced by fall color photos, so I couldn’t resist sharing one more beautiful lupine picture as a summer send off.
Are you stretching out your summer or ready for all things fall?
Today I heard that the Alaskan Way Viaduct will remain open until January 2019. Excited to see the waterfront transform when the tunnel finally opens and the viaduct comes down. #seattle#alaskanwayviaduct
@lisandrooc mentioned that he’ll be making a few trips up this way to see the #sierrafallcolors
Who else is thinking the same thing?

Lupine fields > sunflower fields
Just kidding! All flower fields are 💯 in my book!
I do love how subtle wildflowers are in the Eastern Sierra, though. The mountains bring the drama, but the flowers make you pause to take a closer look.
From where you’re sitting on the other side of the screen, this lupine field may seem like it carries far less “wow” factor compared to the bright and bold sunflower fields splashed across your feed. But these little guys brave the elements to flourish despite harsh alpine conditions. Small but mighty, they bring all of the “wow” in the world when you stop to think what it took for them to be here.
Taking an end of summer dip 🐾
My sweet boy Jenner turns one this week. Many of you know Jenner (JB in my stories) is training to be a guide dog with Guide Dogs for the Blind. As much as he’s “my baby” he actually belongs to the organization, so his birthday is bitter sweet. At one year, puppies in training are evaluated for placement in formal training (aka guide dog college), which means our time together is coming to an end 😢
I’m going to be a mess when he goes to college, but days like this one plus knowing he will change the life of a person with visual impairments make the thought of him leaving easier.
Enjoy the little things and always be spontaneous ♡ watching the fish jump out of the water was one of my favorite things we did, Because atleast we gotta see them.
