New park post!!! Lumber River State Park is a park located south of Lumberton, about an hour and ten-fifteen mins from where I’m located in Fayetteville, closer for those of you living in south Fayetteville. For me, it wasn’t really worth it. The river and surrounding trails are more of a swampy environment which I’m not super fond of. But enough negative opinions. It is a campground and there are some really nice tent campsites. There is a network of trails, couldn’t find a map, relatively short however. A few nice picnic shelters, visitors centers, two porch style swings by the river. And this time of year some fall color too! Looks like the river would be good for kayaking/canoeing , and fishing.
