Fred laying with his cat pal, Otis. Fred came to us badly abused and still has wire strangle scars around his neck. He went from a dog who had never ran and who hid when heard a squeak toy, to now being a beacon of light and love who enjoys hanging out with anything and everything!
This was shot at 8:30 in the night. The white spots of light in the water are fishermen carrying flashlights to help them see as they collect their fishing nets. The heavy clouds reflect light from a city behind the hills, illuminating the whole scene. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Fishing is a major source of income (and leisure) for the locals of Goa. A common method of fishing in the backwaters is to lay nets in a large area with bait in them and leave them. After a few hours they'd come back and reel in the nets, bringing in any and all fish that got stuck in it. Many carry out this activity in the night as there are no people who might disturb the water.
Day 14 31K
Made a terrible decision to road walk instead of kayaking.
But the trail balanced out the morning’s suffering, the afternoon was wonderful. We walked up the Waikare river. I kinda felt like a salmon, struggling upstream. At times the banks rose steeply, the rainforest of trees was lush, palms and ferns giving tropical vibes. We even jumped off a small cliff in one spot and swam in the crisp and refreshing river. The cool water helped my feet feel better from the pavements incessant pounding.
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

After they responded with this, I told them about how serious my sister’s injury was and how she could have died and was HIGHLY possible, and how we didn’t know what would happen (which is true) they haven’t responded back yet so I talked to them on my side account to get their attention again and I explained once more. They left me on read when I told them again. I do not believe I am going over board OR overreacting because imagine YOUR sibling(s) almost dying and then being told you overreacting by crying and being upset. LIKE DAMN RIGHT IM UPSET🤬 this really hit me deeply so please report them so they won’t be mean and ignorant to anyone else.
At the Manikarnika Ghat, death is celebrated. Remorseful chants are sung every hour of the day and smoke engulfs the area day and night as dead bodies are cremated for eternal peace. The ghat is also known as the gateway to heaven by many worshipers.

Male ostriches are called cocks or roosters, and females are called hens. A group of ostriches is called a flock. Flocks can consist of up to 100 birds, though most have 10 members. The group has a dominant male and a dominant female and several other females. Lone males come and go during mating season. #scubakitkat
Every now and then stop and spend sometime in nature. Walk amongst the trees, sit by the river and admire the flora and fauna. The chirping of the birds, the gentle breeze and the tranquillity relaxes the mind and is soothing to the soul. That's therapy right there. It also makes you appreciate the beauty of our planet and the benefits of conservation.
