👳🏾 #PADMAN 👳🏾
I very recently watched the film 'Pad Man', which was first recommended to me by my Dad! 💕
For those of you who are unfamiliar, it's based on the #TrueStory of a husband's attempt to break cultural and societal norms by normalising menstruation in India through his attempt to produce sanitary products for his wife to avoid her contracting health issues from using a cloth. It's currently available on #Netflix (UK) and I HIGHLY recommend it. .
As a woman, it empowered me with more awareness of menstruation issues that women in rural areas face, as well as offering me a great appreciation for charities like @the_pink_box_project_tanzania that exist to normalise and teach young women about menstrual hygiene. .
What other charities do you know doing the same thing? And what are your thoughts on the Pad Man movie if you've watched it? Let me know below! 🌹

😂🙌🏻 On a more serious note... how much caffeine is safe to have per day? It is said that 400mg of caffeine is deemed safe per day (roughly 4 cups). However, that is not taking into account the individual person. For some people, like myself, having more than just one coffee per day can effect my sleep patterns or even cause anxiousness. Yet for others this much caffeine may be fine!
My top tips for coffee drinkers:
☕️ Have your coffee 30mins away from meals. This helps to prevent the caffeine from inhibiting nutrient absorption from your food. Caffeine may also interact with some medications so be aware of this ☝🏻
☕️ Stick to 1 coffee before midday if you want to have a sound nights sleep. Caffeine has a half life of approximately 5-6hrs. So once bedtime rolls around the caffeine is out of your system and less likely to affect your sleep.
☕️ Avoid added sugars, syrups and flavour additions.
☕️ Trying to break the habit? Why not try swapping your coffee for a matcha latte, hot cacao or even a turmeric latte one morning.
But it’s not all bad... In fact there are quite a few health benefits to coffee! Such as improving performance, increasing energy levels, it contains some antioxidants and nutrients and may even help fight depression 🙌🏻
Making my way into the new year with a transformation instead of a resolution🎊
This should be a post I’m proud of, shouldn’t it? Probably.. and although, I am proud of myself for where I am today, I was definitely closing my eyes while pushing the post button 🙈 because a part of me feels ashamed and embarrassed for letting myself lose control of my health.
That girl you see there in the before picture 👆🏼She was sad, depressed, lonely, unhappy, and so lost.
I remember those feelings like it was yesterday and I would be perfectly fine if I never had to experience that numbness again. I hated myself and it showed in my attitude and in my thoughts each day.
Although I was getting myself to the gym every morning, I had developed some poor eating habits and I didn’t even care because I couldn’t see past my situation. I figured there was no hope for me so why even try, right?
Well folks, I couldn’t have been more wrong!! Taking back my life and putting my own health ahead of whatever else I let consume my world was the best decision I have ever made! 😊 I actually feel good about who I am and happy with the life I live. I want to share this opportunity with every single person I know 💕 because it truly saved me!
I have decided to extend my boot camp enrollment for one more week. Don’t allow anything to keep you from getting your life back! Don’t wait until next month or next year! One day is TODAY 💫 What exactly is it that you’re waiting for?

Walking for at least 30 minutes a day a few times a week is a great way to improve or maintain physical fitness. • increased cardiovascular and pulmonary (heart and lung) fitness • reduced risk of heart disease and stroke • improved management of conditions such as hypertension (high blood pressure), high cholesterol, joint and muscular pain or stiffness, and diabetes • stronger bones and improved balance • increased muscle strength and endurance • reduced body fat
Walking is a huge part of my routine along with a regular Yoga and Qi Gong practice and strength training. I find it great for creating balance and a sense of being grounded. If you have a beach to go to, even better! The white noise from the waves is so calming and awesome. The best part about it is it’s FREE!
✨ Happy Monday my darlings ✨
. . .
I kicked this morning off with a brisk walk around the park with my dad 🌳 We were out for an hour, and it was hard work getting up the hill at the end 😅 I haven't been doing much exercise lately, so it was great to get my heart rate going.
. . .
It is a rare treat that I get to spend some 1-on-1 time with my dad because he is always working! He is my number 1 inspiration for working hard for what you want in life. His favourite saying is: "It's funny! The harder I work, the luckier I get" 😉

Enjoying breakfast now, and will be collecting mum from the airport shortly 🇸🇪

Have a great start to your week 😘
