About four blocks from our house, across the street from the grocery store, is this cute little restaurant @matefactor. They have a beautiful courtyard and make a delicious veggie burger, but you really need to try the lemon lime iced maté. It’s so delicious and refreshing!
We will see what “The Great One” allows: Several of our teams are headed up to High Camp at 17,200’ to get in position to make a summit push in the next couple of days, weather permitting.
Link in bio to follow along with Trip Reports from teams in the Alaska Range.
Tap for music 🎻🎶 Last year my season opener was Lady Mac. This year we kicked it up a notch. @vvalchev @brandonmacmullin and I tried the 5.4 trad SW ridge of Fable. Got shut down 150m below the summit by steep wet snow but it was still a wicked fun day. Can't wait to come back and explore these limestone features.
When packing for our trip we brought lots of camping stuff envisaging many days spent walking and nights camped under the stars ✨
Turns out we only camped out once, at Trolltunga (which is the best way to experience it in my opinion) ⛺️
Really I think I we underestimated the draw of the van, both for the fact that we were often parked up in beautiful places anyway and the worry of leaving it for extended periods. We never did park anywhere we felt unsafe but you can’t help but worry about break ins when most of what you own is contained in your little roving home 🚐
The sun is shining & so are you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One thing about editing photos: Dana, the girl to the left in this photo I clearly could have edited out. So why didn’t I? Well after taking photos I spoke with her about what she was doing. This was on my stories a couple weeks ago. She took rocks and wrote on them things she needed to rid herself of. It was very powerful, plus it was her birthday! She was so friendly and we had some good laughs. Sometimes editing photos takes away from the stories that can be told from the objects and people within. So maybe this photo isn’t perfect by Instagram standards but I think the stories that photos hold make it even better.
The Pacific Northwest is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been❤️ We had an amazing time hiking and exploring the beaches around Cannon Beach, OR. The cute little inn we stayed at was less than a 5 min walk to the beach and served us 3 course breakfasts😋 There’s so many things to see and do around here!!
